I have been playing guitar for a number of years before I met Martin. I always struggled with nervous and muscle tension when performing. This tension did not allow the music to flow and I could not build up to a satisfactory playing speed.
Martin's relaxed attitude and example helped me to overcome this. He teaches you the music you want to learn by providing invaluable tips and fresh ideas. The most important part of playing guitar with him is to have fun!
You walk away with lyric and chord sheets and backing tracks that you can use to build up a repertoire of songs that you enjoy playing by yourself and for others. Spending an hour with Martin once a week makes all the difference!

Great teacher! He is also a great player! Martin is very professional and a wonderful teacher. I have been taking lessons with Martin for about a year and have learned a lot with him already. He is passionate about teaching, and makes learning the guitar a less daunting experience.
His guitar-playing ability and technique are an inspiration. Guitar lessons with Martin are a pleasure and worth paying for, I would not go anywhere else. Lessons with Martin are relaxed and fun, and facilitate an atmosphere that I feel comfortable learning in.

Tamryn has wanted to play guitar since 6yrs old, she wont play at school, she says its boring. Then we found Martin. She absolutely looks forward to every guitar lesson. She likes the fact she can learn the songs she wants to learn. She loves her lessons because they aren't boring. Martin treats her with such respect & they have so much fun.

My son does not open up to people very easily. He is very withdrawn and does not speak to people unless he really has to. He always wanted to play guitar, but I was always putting it off. Then one day I saw an ad for guitar lessons, it was as something told me this is it. I phoned Martin and made an appointment to go and see him.
My son started guitar lessons, and I immediately saw a change in him, he was a different child. Martin is an unbelievable teacher and my son feels very comfortable with him, Martin even got him to sing! Martin is the best thing that happened in my son’s life for a long time. My son looks forward to every lesson!

I have wanted to learn to play the guitar all my life!! I have am always “wowed” by people playing a guitar! My guitar was a Xmas pressi almost 3 years ago along with a “teach yourself guitar” DVD – well – I could not make head or tail of it! Then years later I saw the advert for Martin’s guitar lessons and came along with my 10 year old son, who also wanted to learn to play!
We have been having lessons for about 3 months now and are both loving it!!! Martin knows the kind of music we like and is always spot on with new songs he teaches us – we love them all!!! I itch to play my guitar, in the car, in the middle of cooking supper… while at work… Wish I could take it everywhere with me!!
Our favourite song to play at the moment is – No Surprise by Chris Daughtry!!!!
I Absolutely love it!!! Thank you Martin!!!!

Martin's vast experience & simple, relaxed concepts for teaching guitar makes this learning experience fun, enjoyable, but most importantly, EASY. He has been a key factor in making me realise the dream that I have put off for way to long.
I've always wanted to pick up a guitar and strum a few sweet tunes, but alas, always felt so intimidated. Martin has banished any such fears, and instead has replaced it with confidence in the fact that anyone can do it, with the correct guidance. So here's to many happy tunes.

“We are a non-musical family. So when my daughter wanted a guitar, I actually tried at first to talk her out of it. Upon rethinking the issue, however, I encouraged her to save up for it: I wanted her appreciate it so it would be more valuable to her. When she finally got her guitar, she tried to play by herself but didn't’t really succeed. And then, one day, Martin came along and it changed everything.
Within a few lessons she was happily strumming away. Martin encouraged her to sing and, because she got to choose the songs she played, her enthusiasm soared.
Thank you Martin, you’re doing an awesome job. It’s time so well spent. Finally I can say with confidence….someone in the family can play an instrument and sing at last!”

About a year ago I did something I should have done 20 years ago already: I bought a guitar and searched Gumtree for someone willing to teach me to play the damn thing.
Since than I have spent many enjoyable hours in Martin Hunter's studio. For an old dog to learn a new trick is not always easy – but then again not as difficult as most old dogs think. I am glad I did not wait another 20 years.
Thanks Martin!

When taking up guitar a very short time ago in place of piano I wondered if I would be satisfied with the change. The one thing I do remember in my fist lesson with Martin was the words 'you will love guitar more than any other instrument after this lesson'. I was a little skeptical but nothing can be more true!
When one finds an instructor that has a passion for what he does and is just as gifted and talented as Martin, it comes through in the lessons therefore helping me improve that much faster. He teaches you how to play the guitar.
In my years in music one thing that stunts a growth of an artist is being taught everything but to play the instrument…almost like being taught the rules of the road without being taught to drive the car! He offers a

Lessons with Martin make the working week that much easier! – Guitar lessons are always fun, and as complex or simple as you want them to be. After a hard day, one can strum along to some simple stuff and just have a happy jam session. Or if I can handle it, a lesson can be challenging and tricky, and Martin facilitates getting through that really well.
As a relatively new guitarist, I have to say that I have enjoyed Martin as a teacher and wouldn't be changing anytime soon!"
